Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour (375 g)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup sugar (50 g)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 cup apple cider (240 mL)
  • 1 cup whole milk (240 mL)
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • powdered sugar, for dusting
  • ice cream, optional

How to Make It

1. Step
Combine flour, salt, cinnamon, allspice and baking powder in a bowl.
2. Step
In separate bowl, combine eggs, sugar and vanilla. Blend.
3. Step
Add apple cider and milk. Blend until well incorporated.
4. Step
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, blend until you have a smooth and creamy batter.
5. Step
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet.
6. Step
Transfer the batter into a zipper bag and trim the corner.
7. Step
Pour batter in funnel cake shapes into the hot oil. Once golden brown, flip and cook the other side (1 min max).
8. Step
Remove and drain on paper towel.
9. Step
Dust with powdered sugar and top with ice cream.
